Duties
Greet patients warmly and handle all front desk responsibilities with professionalism and enthusiasm
Schedule appointments efficiently using dental office management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Verify insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing using systems like Meditech, Epic, or Athenahealth
Manage patient intake, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Answer multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and assisting patients with inquiries
Perform insurance verification, explain treatment plans, and assist with payment processing including medical collection procedures
Maintain organized filing of patient records, manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like eClinicalWorks or Meditech, and ensure data accuracy
Skills
Proven experience in dental or medical office settings with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding (ICD-10, CPT)
Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar platforms
Ability to navigate health information management systems confidently while maintaining HIPAA compliance
Excellent customer service skills combined with effective communication in bilingual environments preferred
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10-key), and familiarity with office equipment such as multi-line phones and fax machines
Knowledge of insurance processes including verification, billing, Medicare/Medicaid procedures, ICD coding, and documentation review
Demonstrated clerical experience with office management tasks such as filing, data entry, and appointment scheduling
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining a friendly demeanor in a busy dental clinic setting
Experience is a plus, but not required.
Pay: $14.00 - $22.00 per hour
