Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and oral health evaluations. Assist with chairside procedures in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety. Utilize dental software systems for accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Support infection control protocols by maintaining aseptic techniques and sterilizing instruments according to HIPAA and OSHA standards. Collaborate with dentists to review treatment plans, document procedures accurately, and ensure seamless patient care delivery. Skills Proficiency in dental software systems. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and medical terminology. Experience with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry techniques, and medical imaging procedures. Skilled in patient care, assessment, documentation review, and medical coding for billing purposes. Excellent chairside assisting skills with a focus on patient comfort and safety. Ability to work efficiently within EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems while maintaining precise medical records. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
