We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our vibrant dental office team. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Duties
Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service at all times
Manage multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, scheduling appointments and answering inquiries promptly
Verify insurance coverage through insurance verification processes, including Medicare and other third-party payers
Schedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Collect and review patient information, ensuring accurate documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
Maintain and organize medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
Assist with medical billing processes, including coding using CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 codes, and managing collections when necessary
Support clinic administrative functions such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and managing office supplies
Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate smooth patient intake and care plan coordination
Handle billing inquiries related to medical and dental insurance claims efficiently
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental or medical office environment is highly preferred; this is not required and we are willing to train the right candidate.
Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Dentrix Ascend is preferred, but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding, and documentation review processes
Experience with health information management and medical billing practices
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with office management software like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix
Proven ability to provide exceptional patient service while maintaining professionalism in a fast-paced setting
Strong clerical skills including data entry, and managing multi-line phone systems
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient privacy and data security
