Duties
Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are met
Take high-quality X-rays and medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) system while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
Conduct vital signs assessments and medical documentation to support comprehensive patient care
Provide patient education on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions in a clear and compassionate manner
Support front desk operations by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and managing medical records
Qualifications
Valid licensure as a Dental Assistant with current certification to perform chairside assisting and X-ray procedures
Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform dental assisting tasks including four-handed dentistry, taking vital signs, and operating dental equipment
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including general dentists, specialists (prosthodontics, endodontics), and administrative staff
Demonstrated ability to adhere to HIPAA guidelines while managing sensitive patient information
