Assist dentists during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient chairside support with four-handed dentistry techniques
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes as a dental receptionist, including verifying vital signs and updating medical records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft
Handle insurance processing by submitting claims via EMR systems, verifying coverage, and following up on unpaid or denied claims to optimize collections
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by maintaining patient confidentiality and securing medical documentation and records
Perform X-ray imaging and operate advanced medical imaging tools like 3D scanners while adhering to infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
Support infection control procedures by practicing proper sterilization, maintaining an aseptic environment, and understanding anatomy knowledge relevant to dental procedures
Assist with medical coding, billing, and documentation for accurate record-keeping in Epic or similar systems, ensuring all procedures are properly documented for insurance purposes
Conduct patient education on dental terminology, treatment plans, and post-operative care to enhance patient understanding and satisfaction
Experience
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with a focus on insurance processing and collections
Strong knowledge of EMR managing medical records and documentation
Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques within a dental setting
Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and dental terminology essential for accurate record management
