Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly, check-in and check-out efficiently, and manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance authorization and verification, and handle billing processes using systems like Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Athenahealth
Schedule appointments accurately utilizing dental office management software; coordinate patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency
Assist dental providers during procedures by preparing instruments, taking digital radiographs, and maintaining sterilization protocols
Review and update medical records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations; manage documentation review for accuracy and completeness
Perform data entry tasks including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and medical billing using EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks or Meditech
Support administrative functions such as filing, managing patient records, handling correspondence, and maintaining office supplies
Requirements
Proven experience in a dental clinic or medical office environment with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical administrative support
Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Meditech, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Athenahealth or similar platforms
Familiarity with medical coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification processes, and Medicare guidelines
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) and typing skills (10 key typing)
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and medical records management
Exceptional customer service abilities paired with professional phone etiquette and effective communication skills
Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
Previous clinic or dental office experience is highly preferred; familiarity with dental terminology is advantageous
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining a positive attitude
