What You'll Do
The Dental Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring a positive experience for patients visiting our dental clinic. This position is responsible for greeting patients, managing appointments, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate patient records. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and committed to excellent customer service in a team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Welcome and check in patients in a professional, courteous mannerSchedule, confirm, and manage dental appointments efficientlyVerify patient insurance eligibility and benefitsCollect and post patient payments and co-paysMaintain accurate and confidential patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) systemAnswer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and route messages appropriatelyAssist with patient registration and dental consent formsCommunicate effectively with dental providers, hygienists, and support staff to ensure smooth clinic flowUphold confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policiesSupport other front desk and administrative duties as neededOther duties as required
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; some dental office training preferredPrior dental office or medical front desk experience preferred (FQHC experience a plus)Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance billing preferredStrong communication and customer service skillsProficiency in computer systems; experience with electronic health records (EHR) helpfulAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and attention to detail
