The Lead RDA role is a clinical leadership position responsible for chairside assistance (including sedation and in-office general anesthesia cases), taking x-rays, impressions, bite registrations, and performing expanded functions per state guidelines. The role includes preparing, monitoring, and supporting sedation patients, delivering pre- and post-operative instructions, completing treatment documentation, and supporting case acceptance through patient education.
This position leads and coaches dental assistants, assists with training and onboarding, and reinforces standards for clinical quality, patient experience, and compliance. Responsibilities also include maintaining sterilization and infection control protocols, OSHA and HIPAA compliance, managing room turnover and equipment readiness, overseeing inventory and supply ordering, monitoring waterline and spore testing, supporting lab case tracking, and participating in team meetings and community outreach. Required credentials listed are an active RDA license and current BLS certification; nitrous oxide monitoring certification and experience assisting with sedation and/or hospital dentistry are noted where applicable.
