Role Overview
A Maine-based organization with over 15 years of service is hiring a licensed dental hygienist to travel to nursing facilities across the state to deliver care that patients would otherwise not receive. Clinical services provided include prophylaxis, periodontal care, fluoride, sealants, silver diamine fluoride (SDF), temporary fillings, oral hygiene instruction, nutritional counseling, oral screenings, and denture cleanings.
The role allows creating your own schedule and choosing preferred locations, with options to work full/part time, independently or per-diem with an assistant. Pay is production-based, reported as $250–$525 per day (approximately $45–$85 per hour in a six-hour day), and there are bonuses for site or staff recruitment. Required are an active dental hygiene license, active driver’s license, CPR/BLS certification, and a clean criminal record.
