EFDA - Part-Time Dental Assistant - Solon

Part-time Expanded Function Dental Assistant position with set weekday hours at two locations: Monday and Wednesday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM at the Solon location, and Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM at the Mentor location. The role involves preparing treatment rooms and instruments, assisting the dentist during restorative, cosmetic, surgical, and preventive procedures, placing and finishing restorations consistent with EFDA scope, taking impressions and fabricating temporary crowns/restorations, applying sealants, fluoride, and desensitizing agents, taking and processing digital radiographs, performing coronal polishing and other state-permitted expanded functions, educating patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care, maintaining records and infection control, and monitoring inventory. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited dental assisting program, current Ohio EFDA certification/licensure, and current CPR/BLS certification. Candidate should have knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and infection control standards; proficiency with dental software and digital radiography; strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills; and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA.
