Provide chairside orthodontic support including assisting the orthodontist during procedures, instructing patients on elastic use, preparing tray set-ups per doctor preferences, and taking initial, progress, and de-bond photos. Perform diagnostic-quality X-rays and attach them to charts; take scans for clear aligners or models; mix amalgam, cements, and impression materials; pour, trim, and polish impression trays; set up and remove orthodontic brackets and excess cement; place and cement bands; and make retainers and bleaching trays.
Use dental practice management software such as Open Dental or Dentrix. Bilingual Spanish is preferred. Role requires prolonged sitting and standing as needed and the ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
