This full-time, on-site Pediatric Dental Assistant position supports dentists during exams and procedures by preparing treatment rooms, setting up instruments, and assisting chairside. Responsibilities include taking and processing dental radiographs, sterilizing and organizing equipment, updating patient records, and following infection control and safety protocols. The role also involves communicating with children and caregivers, providing oral hygiene instructions, and helping maintain a calm, child-friendly environment to reduce patient anxiety.
Additional duties include assisting with scheduling, patient flow, and basic front-office coordination to support efficient practice operations. Qualifications listed include chairside assisting and instrument preparation skills, familiarity with common pediatric dental procedures, knowledge of infection control and dental radiography, strong communication and organizational abilities, and demonstrated patience and professionalism with young patients and families. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; completion of a dental assisting program and relevant certifications (for example, an X-ray license) are preferred. Experience in pediatric dentistry and with N2O, OCS, and GA is noted as beneficial.
