The Dental Hygienist serves as the first clinical contact for patients, conducting mouth assessments, reviewing oral health histories, collecting medical and dental histories, and charting conditions based on observations. The role includes removing plaque, cleaning teeth, supporting the dentist in all aspects of care, sterilizing instruments and equipment, and taking traditional and digital impressions.
Candidates must hold a degree in Dental Hygiene and a valid license to practice, and have proven experience as a dental hygienist. Required knowledge includes health and safety regulations such as OSHA and HIPAA, plus experience preparing and maintaining dental equipment, strong communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and reliability. Experience with dental software, digital X-ray systems, and additional certifications or training in dental hygiene are listed as desirable.
