Full-time position for an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) who will assist the doctor during a variety of dental procedures, perform expanded functions within their training and state regulations, and support efficient clinical flow. Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, instruments, materials, and equipment; taking digital radiographs and intraoral images; taking impressions or digital scans; assisting with restorative procedures, crowns, bridges, and fabricating or assisting with temporary restorations as permitted. The role also involves providing clear pre- and post-operative instructions, reviewing treatment and home-care guidance with patients, maintaining sterilization, infection-control, and OSHA standards, turning over and stocking rooms, documenting clinical information, monitoring supplies, and communicating with the clinical and front-office team.
Candidates must have previous dental assisting experience and EFDA training/certification as applicable. Required skills and attributes include strong chairside assisting abilities, experience with digital X-rays and dental technology, excellent understanding of sterilization and infection-control procedures, good organizational and time-management skills, effective communication and patient-care skills, dependability, professionalism, punctuality, a positive attitude, and a proactive approach to supporting the team.
