Role Overview
Provide advanced chairside support to dentists for restorative procedures, extractions, and other treatments, ensuring efficient operatory workflow. Perform expanded restorative functions under dentist direction, including placing and contouring amalgam and/or composite fillings, assist with fabrication and placement of temporary crowns and bridges, take and process dental X-rays while following radiation safety protocols, and take impressions and fabricate/trim models as needed. Maintain accurate patient records and educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive measures.
Must have completed an accredited dental assisting program and hold EFDA certification per state regulations, with dental radiography certification. Position requires proficiency in expanded functions (restorative procedures, impressions, orthodontic assistance), familiarity with dental instruments and equipment, strong verbal and written communication, teamwork, adaptability, adherence to ethical and confidentiality standards, and commitment to a professional work environment.
