Role Overview

The dental assistant role supports clinicians by delivering the Perfect Patient Experience and performing patient care, office, and laboratory duties. Responsibilities include preparing patients for oral exams and treatments, assisting clinicians during procedures, completing radiographs and intra-oral photos as directed, preparing tray setups, maintaining supply levels, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, keeping operatories clean, and ensuring equipment is maintained per manufacturer guidelines. The position requires communication and teamwork with front and back office staff and specialty dental assistants, escorting and introducing patients to team members, recording clinician notes and charting in the digital patient record as directed, keeping patients’ mouths dry during procedures, and instructing patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the clinician. Specialty assignments (Endodontics, Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Pediatric) involve primarily supporting clinicians in that specialty and may require additional training.
