Dental Hygienist

Provide initial patient screenings, perform dental cleanings, take and develop dental radiographs, and administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide. Remove calculus and plaque, apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides, take impressions for study casts, and identify conditions including gingivitis, caries, and periodontitis. Teach and counsel patients on oral hygiene and nutrition, assist dentists and staff, prepare operatories by sterilizing instruments, and maintain OSHA and HIPAA compliance. Perform documentation, office management, scheduling follow-up calls, monitor and order supplies, and run a double hygiene schedule with an assistant when required. Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, an associate degree or higher from a CODA‑accredited dental hygiene program, and a state‑certified dental hygienist license; expanded functions or local anesthesia preferred if not covered by the license. Work is fast paced and may require repetitive motions, bending, sitting or standing for long periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Reports to the Area Director of Operations/Operations Manager and the Operating Doctor; no direct reports.
