Dental Hygienist at Midgette Dentistry Richmond, VA

The dental hygienist will perform licensed hygiene procedures, educate patients, and manage the nonsurgical periodontal program as directed by the dentist. Duties include establishing and maintaining ongoing patient care relationships; verifying and documenting patient health histories; educating patients about oral hygiene, oral health and disease, and available procedures; exposing and evaluating diagnostic x-rays; taking and recording blood pressure; providing adult and child prophylaxis; delivering non-surgical periodontal therapy; co-assessing possible restorative treatments with the dentist; and providing sealants, Arestin, and fluoride treatments as needed. Candidates must hold dental hygiene certification from an accredited dental hygiene school and maintain a current hygiene license in the state where employed. Required trainings include annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control training as mandated by law. Experience with dental software is required.
