Dental Hygienist Part-Time

Part-time hygienist needed for a Powhatan office, working 1–2 days with typical hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Applications accepted from registered dental hygienists licensed in Virginia and recent hygiene school graduates awaiting licensure. Other Richmond-area locations have full-time, part-time, and temporary openings. Required clinical elements include BLS certification (AHA for healthcare providers), proficiency with hand instrumentation and ultrasonic inserts, experience with digital radiographs and electronic records preferred, and certification to administer nitrous oxide and local anesthesia (employer will compensate for certification and continued learning if needed). Duties include preparing operatories, patient seating, medical history updates, oral cancer screenings, x-rays, fluoride treatments, prophylaxis, debridement, scaling and root planing, comprehensive periodontal charting, sealants, patient education, communicating treatment plans, scheduling hygiene appointments, recording clinical notes in electronic records, and complying with OSHA, HIPAA, State Board, and sterilization requirements. Physical demands include repetitive hand movements, standing and walking for long periods, bending/twisting, vision for close work, clear speech, and assisting with lifting patients from wheelchairs into operatories.
